Volunteer Opportunities
Clinic Family Care Coordinator
Help families access the pediatric care needed for kids to thrive!
Ideal for: Volunteers who enjoy one-to-one communication, are organized and comfortable following established processes, or looking for experience in a healthcare or family services setting.
What: As the Clinic Family Care Coordinator, you’ll be the calm and welcoming voice helping families access and navigate pediatric therapy services from our Clinic. You’ll help parents know what to expect, coordinate scheduling, and reduce stress so families can focus on helping children thrive. Working closely with the Family Engagement Team Manager, you’ll support local children and families by keeping communicate clear, timely, and compassionate. Tasks may include:
- Communicating with families via secure messaging and phone calls to schedule and confirm appointments.
- Coordinating scheduling with clinic staff to ensure smooth and efficient care.
- Sharing Encompass-developed resources and information to help caregivers feel prepared and informed.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
When: We are flexible and can work with your schedule. Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (some early evening hours may be possible). Shifts are typically 2-4 hours.
Where: Encompass Pediatric Therapy Clinic, 9050 384th Ave SE, Snoqualmie, WA
Minimum age: 16
Requirements: Must submit a volunteer application, be able to successfully complete a Washington State Patrol Background Check (WATCH), complete the HIPPA and Mandated Reporter training, and attend the new volunteer orientation. Volunteers should be able to commit to at least six (6) months.
Clinic Support
Help keep the clinic running smoothly so therapists can focus on what matters most—kids.
Ideal for: Volunteers who enjoy hands-on, physical tasks, and working independently.
What: As a Clinic Support volunteer, you’ll be the vital behind the scenes role helping with daily operational tasks and special one-of therapy projects. You work independently or alongside Clinic staff to keep the shared spaces clean, organized, and well-prepared. Tasks may include:
- Organizing and restocking therapy materials and activity closets.
- Sanitizing surfaces and shared equipment between sessions.
- Maintaining the feeding therapy kitchen.
- Watering plants in the serenity garden.
- Resetting therapy rooms after appointments.
- Assisting with special projects as requested by therapists.
When: We can work with your schedule! Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Shifts are generally between 2 and four hours.
Where: Child Development Center located at 9050 384th Ave. SE Snoqualmie, WA 98065
Minimum Age: 14
Requirements: Must be able to commit to a minimum of three (3) months, submit the volunteer application, successfully complete a WATCH background check, and complete the new volunteer orientation.
Community Ambassador
Believe in the Encompass purpose? Help us share it with the community.
Perfect for volunteers who are high-energy, enjoy talking with new people and starting conversations, and looking for a flexible, evening or weekend role.
What: As a Community Ambassador, you’ll represent Encompass at community events to help spread awareness about Encompass programs and services. You’ll assist and support our Community Outreach Coordinator by lending your voice to engage, share information, and help create a welcoming, kid friendly presence at events throughout the Snoqualmie Valley. Tasks may include:
- Talking with community members and sharing information about our programs
- Distributing flyers and collecting newsletter sign ups
- Setting up and breaking down the Encompass booth
- Helping kids spin the Encompass prize wheel or other kid-friendly activity
When: Select events from our outreach calendar (mostly weekends during summer months)
Where: The Snoqualmie Valley
Minimum age: 18
Requirements: Must submit the volunteer application, successfully complete a WATCH background check, and complete the new volunteer orientation. Community Ambassadors commit to at least two (2) events from our summer outreach calendar and attend a half-day training session (either in-person or remote).
Mystery Reader
Share the magic of story time with young learners!
Ideal for: Volunteers who love reading aloud and engaging children, interested in early childhood education, or looking for a low-time commitment role with big impact.
What: As a Myster Reader, you’ll make guest appearances, coordinated in advance with our Early Learning Manager, to delight and engage children 2.5 – 5 years of age with picture books. Your warm presence, emotive storytelling, and love of books will help build early literacy skills while showing that reading is fun. Join us to make a big impact, one-story at a time.
When: Flexible during the school days, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Where: In our preschool classrooms in North Bend and Carnation
Minimum age: 14
Requirements: Must submit a volunteer application, be able to successfully complete a background check, and attend the new volunteer orientation. Weekly volunteers must have documentation of Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) skin test and at least one dose of the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine.
Preschool Classroom Support
Support early learners by bringing joy and extra care to a classroom.
Ideal for: Volunteers who enjoy working with kids, interested in early childhood education, or want consistent relationship-based opportunities.
What: As a Preschool Classroom Support volunteer you’ll work alongside teaching staff to support daily classroom activities and help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. You’ll assist with play, learning stations, routine tasks that help preschoolers grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. Duties vary day-to-day based on guidance and needs from teaching staff and may include:
- Interacting with children through play, songs, games, and reading.
- Support positive classroom behavior.
- Assisting with classroom setup, cleanup, snack time, and transitions.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe learning environment by disinfecting toys and materials.
- Assisting children with basic tasks such as cutting, pasting, and early writing.
- Support teachers with classroom prep, bulletin boards, displays, and materials.
When: 3 hours per week or every other week, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 12:45-3:45 pm, Mondays – Thursdays

Preschool Snack and Meal Prep
Help fuel learning, growth, and play!
Ideal for: Volunteers who like predictable structure, want to support children working in a classroom, and prefer big impact, behind-the scenes volunteering.
What: As a Preschool Snack and Meal Prep volunteer you’ll help prepare simple meals and snacks while following food safety guidelines. This important behind-the scenes role ensures students stay energized, focused, and ready to learn throughout the day. You’ll work alongside staff to prepare food, maintain a clean kitchen space, and support dietary and allergy needs with care. Tasks may include:
- Washing and cutting fruits and vegetables, portioning servings, and assembling plates.
- Assisting with light kitchen cleanup, wiping surfaces, washing dishes, or putting supplies away.
- Collaborating with staff to ensure food allergies and dietary needs are followed.
- Helping inventory and restock kitchen supplies.
When: Shifts are flexible and generally last two hours at least 1 day per week. Schedule options include Mondays – Thursdays, between 8 am and 1:00 pm.
Where: Early Learning Center, located at 1407 Boalch Ave. NW in North Bend or the Encompass Carnation Preschool located at 32240 NE 50th Street.
Minimum Age: 14
Requirements: Volunteers must successfully complete the Encompass Volunteer Application, background check, volunteer onboarding, and Washington State Food Worker Training. A copy of your Food Worker card must be shared with us and updated as necessary. Volunteers are eligible for training reimbursements.

FAQs
What are the age requirements for volunteering?
While the minimum age requirement can vary based on the volunteer activity, generally you must be 14 years old to volunteer at Encompass.
How do I sign up to volunteer?
The first step is to fill out a Volunteer Application online. Once we have received and processed your application, our Volunteer Program Manager will contact you for the next steps.
What training and support is provided to volunteers?
Once your application has been processed, volunteers receive an orientation to Encompass by our Volunteer Program Manager and are provided with hands-on training from program staff as needed.
Do you have opportunities on evenings or weekends?
Yes! We need volunteers for Parents’ Night Out, community outreach events, and fundraising events, many of which occur on weekends and/or evenings. Check our Events Calendar for upcoming volunteer opportunities!
