60 Years of Service

Encompass was born from a personal and loving act of advocacy. In 1966, a small group of local parents refused to let their children with special needs be left behind. Together, they created a place to belong and a legacy. For 60 years, that same relentless spirit has fueled our purpose across the Snoqualmie Valley and surrounding areas -to improve the well-being of children by partnering with families and the community. What began as a handful of parents raising their voices has blossomed into a vital lifeline of early learning, pediatric therapy, and early support. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we honor the courage of our founders, the resilience of our families, and those who stand with us to ensure a community where ALL children thrive.

Throughout this milestone year, we invite you to journey with us through 60 years of service. Together, we will shine a light on the deeply moving stories of impact from families whose children have thrived through our early learning and pediatric therapy services. We honor how or community’s changing needs have shaped us, how the tireless dedication of our staff and volunteers has propelled us forward, and how the unmatched generosity of the Snoqualmie Valley has allowed us to grow side-by-side with the community we love.

A huge part of learning at Encompass is interacting with the community. We visit the Senior Center and we’re also very close with the Carnation Library. That gives the kiddos a chance to see places in their community that can be seen as resources. It gives a good community bonding experience for the students here as well as members of the community, so they get more involved at Encompass.
