Helping Your Food Explorer

July 26, 2025, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Event Details

Designed for caregivers of kids ages 4-10 years, Encompass invites you to join a fun and interactive workshop to explore early feeding strategies through a positive, play-based approach.

We will use video case studies to help apply what you’ve learned. You’ll leave with practical steps to support your child at home, even if you’re still waiting for formal feeding therapy services.

Topics include:

  • Building mealtime routines
  • Sensory and oral-motor foundations
  • Using the right positioning and utensils
  • Encouraging language during meals
  • Understanding nutritional needs

This is an interactive workshop! Bring your smart device (i.e., tablet or phone) to participate! We will also have some food for practice purposes during the session.

Date, Time, and Location: This workshop will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Encompass Child Development Center.

Facilitated by:

  • Encompass Occupational Therapist Supervisor, Lisa Krejci, OTR/L
  • Encompass Speech-Language Pathologist Supervisor, Jim Engracia, MA, CCC-SLP

Cost: $100 (+ fees) per person; $50 (+ fees) per additional caregiver of the same child. You can choose the additional caregiver as an add-on once you click ‘Get Tickets’.

Scholarships are available. Please email Jim Engracia at jim.engracia@encompassnw.org.
