Encompass is excited to offer a new class called Listening Mothers! This eight-week series for mothers of babies between 0 and 6 months will teach new moms the four pillars of the curriculum; mindful self-compassion, self-regulation and attachment, child emotional development and relationships, and gratitude. The science-based curriculum will help you turn the present moment into a positive moment!

This class will be presented by Kim Kanzler, MA, CCC-SLP, Encompass Community Programs Supervisor & Speech-Language Pathologist and Rocio Collado, MSP, Encompass Bilingual Certified Counselor.

Weekly Schedule:

• Week 1: Introduction to the four pillars of Listening Mothers
• Week 2: Exploring baby’s emotional development
• Week 3: Recognizing the importance of being attuned and discuss methods that support that fostering attunement build regulatory circuits in the brain
• Week 4: Exploring ‘falling out of love with baby’ and how elements of Motherhood can lead us to take the ‘low road’ of situational processing
• Week 5: Focusing on the importance of Relationships and Gratitude
• Week 6: Focusing on relationships and gratitude as we transition to parenthood for both parents
• Week 7: Discussing elements of positive partnerships such as creating love maps, nurturing fondness and admiration and turning toward each other
