Finding Calm – Spring 2023

Encompass is excited to offer our popular Finding Calm Series! This six-week series for parents of children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years will teach mindful-based skills to reduce stress, enhance strong bonds, explore mindful self-compassion, and encourage balance in family interactions.

Weekly Schedule:

Week 1: Introduction to the following concepts: mindfulness, self-compassion, and common humanity.

Week 2: Calm Mind: Understanding our brain’s responses in various situations.

Week 3: Calm Body: Understanding our body’s response in various situations.

Week 4: Calm Connection: Understanding attunement and practicing active listening.

Week 5: Calm Emotion: Understanding our reactions and responses to various emotions.

Week 6: Calm Enough: Practicing gratitude, the concept of “Good Enough Parent” and wrap up.

This class will meet for six weeks beginning Wednesday, March 15. There will be no class on April 12 because of spring break. The series will conclude on April 26.

This class will be presented by Kim Kanzler MA, CCC-SLP, Encompass Speech-Language Pathologist, and Rebekah Lunden, Encompass Child and Family Therapist.

Cost: $295/couple or $195/individual.
