This session will focus on learning and examining the terms and concepts of racism and the components that make up the ideology.
November 5, 10:00-11:30 AM
This session will be a discussion around the question of why we as a society are afraid to discuss the issue of race with one another both cross-culturally and personally. Participants will be encouraged to explore fears, misconceptions, personal misgivings, and societal pressures about race.
December 3, 10:00-11:30 AM
This session will focus on connections to the past and the role that it plays in our lives personally and societally. Historical information on the enslavement of the Native American and African people and the role and influence that the legacy of slavery has on the present day will be used as a tool to guide the conversation.
