Event Details

Join other relative caregivers at monthly Kinship meetings. Encompass provides a safe place for those hoping to share concerns, joys, and resources associated with the unique responsibility of raising children. Each month, participants will enjoy lunch, supportive conversation, and resources.

Kinship Care – Children living with family or friends who care for them and provide them with shelter and safety. Kinship caregivers include grandparents, godparents, aunts/uncles,  cousins, and stepparents (through blood, adoption, or marriage) or any adult who is not a relative but has a bond which the family recognizes with the child or children.

  • Informal Kinship Care is the parenting of children by kin as a result of a decision by the family.

  • Formal Kinship Care is the parenting of children by kin as a result of a determination by the court and the child protective service agency.

For planning purposes and COVID-19 compliance, please RSVP to Laura Lewis.

*Note: Kids’ activities are not offered at this meeting, however, please let Laura Lewis know if this will present a barrier to your attendance.

**Vaccinations are not a requirement at this time.  However, because of the COVID spike, masks are required for anyone over the age of 5 unless they are seated and eating regardless of immunization status.
