Is reading a struggle for your first- through fifth-grader?
Try a new Encompass offering called …
Wired For Reading!

To help children for whom reading is a struggle, Encompass now offers a proven, one-on-one program called Wired For Reading. This evidence-based linguistics program focuses on reading, spelling and vocabulary. Its multi-sensory, systematic approach has a strong record of success for struggling readers, and its engaging exploration of the architecture of English benefits all learners.

Teaching Wired For Reading at Encompass is Megan Soden, a home visitor with the Encompass Parent-Child Home Program and a certified K-8 teacher with long teaching experience who has completed advanced training in the program.

Wired For Reading is designed for children in first through fifth grade. To participate, children need to know the letters of the alphabet and the sounds associated with them. Children who have been diagnosed with dyslexia or other language learning disabilities are excellent candidates, but children do not need to be diagnosed with dyslexia or any other learning disability to participate.

Sessions last 50 minutes unless the child is very young and needs a shorter, 30-minute session. We recommend that parents participate in the sessions so that they can carry over the learning at home. As the Friday sessions fill up, the program will be offered on other days.

For tuition rates and other information, contact Encompass Pediatric Therapy Programs at 425.888.3347 or Megan Soden at megan.soden@encompassnw.org.

Sessions run Friday afternoons at Encompass Downtown North Bend, 209 Main Ave. S., North Bend.

Please RSVP by calling 425.888.3347. More info: www.encompassnw.org
